In a surprising crossover event that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Revealed

According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The plot features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.

The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
